CLOUD VIEW VINEYARDS
Pritchard Hill, Napa Valley, California

WINE TYPE and PRODUCTION
Cloud View produces a single proprietary premium red wine blended from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot— the best we can grow and make on this special piece of hillside. We hope to grow to 2000 cases by the 2004 Vintage.

DEBUT and FUTURE RELEASES
Cloud View's 1999 Vintage, 400 cases, debuted March 12, 2002.

LOCATION
Pritchard Hill is located within the Vaca Mountains on the east side of Napa Valley, above Oakville, at 1000 - 1500 ft. elevation. See a detailed topographic map of the Pritchard Hill area, and also enjoy a cloud's view of the region.

TERROIR
The hillside soils that produce the fine grapes for Cloud View wine are complex, heterogeneous, rocky red clay loam. Slopes around Pritchard Hill get more sun, more wind, and less rain and fog than the Valley floor.

NEIGHBORS
Wineries and vineyards on and near Pritchard Hill include Bryant Family, Chappellet, Colgin, David Arthur, Harrison, Long, and Martin.

WINEMAKER and VINEYARD CONSULTANT
Karen Bower Turjanis, formerly of Cardinale, Lokoya, and Paul Hobbs Winery spends as much time in the vineyard as she does in the winery.

WINEGROWER
Linda Taylor makes certain that our vines get the very best care. She works with a team of experts to assure the highest quality fruit.

OWNERS and FOUNDERS
Linda and Leighton Taylor have been growing grapes and living on Pritchard Hill since 1990.

WINE-MAKING NOTES
We strive to make a full-bodied, complex but friendly wine that displays its rich fruit in a delicate frame of oak. We use only our estate-grown grapes. Berries are small, intense, with deep color.
Bunches are hand-picked and sorted, gently de-stemmed and cold-soaked in small temperature-controlled fermentation tanks. Our wine is barreled in French oak and aged for two years.

FARMING NOTES
Cloud View Vineyards comprises 23 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot planted between 1990 -1995 on 90 acres of mountainside. Vines are trained on vertical trellises; hand-pruned to bilateral cordons with yields limited to assure quality and intensity; hand-leafed for optimum sunlight.
